Never thought I’d see a hero giving the GIW a verbal smackdown.” “Are we dreaming?” Danny wonders, only to jump when Val pinches him. The GIW agent stutters, and several others look furious. “This is why we didn’t call you bleeding heart heroes!” An agent growls, and Gar jolts when the agent pulls out—a gun, a normal gun. Not one of the science fiction ones that the other agents and the kids have been using. A regular gun.

OKAY, I firmly blame @disillusioneddanny for this one and I was supposed to have written it for DPxDC Disney Week.
The doc title is very apt, lol.
The basic idea is Dick, alone and grieving after Jason's murder, is patrolling Bludhaven. He isn't focusing the way he should, isn't resting like he should.
He makes an idle wish on a shooting star, and not long after finds Danny. Danny's wounded, and the numbers 626 are bold on his chest. He's half feral.
I haven't written very far yet, but the idea is that Dick will take Danny in, even though he shouldn't, and help Danny feel safe again, all while Dick starts to work through his grief.

Tucker sighs. “Obviously, I didn’t figure it out fast enough, but this is the safest place in Amity right now.” Sam shoves his shoulder with hers, giving him a look all the while. Tucker ducks his head, and clears his throat. “Anyway, everyone should be inside.” Batman nods, but pauses for a moment before moving forward. “The shield held, Tucker. This is still a safe place, and that is what matters.”

Y'all are thirsty for Door lol.
Casper High doesn’t look much like a school anymore. The athletic field is pocked with craters, the outdoor basketball court and the running track are in shambles, and anything that once resembled a net is long gone. There’s also the fact that the entire grounds is shaded in a deep green, the result of the souped up “ghost” shield that protects the school. It’s been converted though, and is now more of a shield for humans rather than ghosts. Still, there’s damage that’s been done. The gymnasium is gone, nothing more than a pile of rubble, and the bus lane is covered in mines. Several windows across the school are busted, with boards haphazardly covering them. There’s a shimmer of glass in the grass, across the parking lots.

The fights turned dangerous, deadly. The GIW were no longer holding back, no longer aiming for only the ghosts, or the most ecto-contaminated. It’d become open season, and having defensible locations became essential. Tucker takes in the damage, the ecto burns on the brick, the cracked parking lot, the destroyed lawn. They’d lost Town Hall, lost the few other small buildings they’d claimed as their own. Casper High had been the last, and they’d defended it with everything they’d had.
