Today I wanted to share some tips on how to draw from a reference picture. It might seem trivial for some people but I'm sure it'd be helpful for others. You can also use the structure that you get from the ref to create a cartoon character with a similar body pose. A few weeks ago I started a concept art school, they are giving us a lot of exercises to practice and this is one of them. Copy an object from real life from all the point of views and studying all the details. After that draw the same object but try to modify it (ex: make it larger, multiply the details, make a part shorter, etc..) and last creat new objects from the ones you just drew! But more important: have fun doing it 😎 #akitutorials #motivationmonday

In this video I tried to show some exercises you can do to practice with random head shapes to make unique characters! Trace a random shape with your pencil and then try to draw something from it, it helps your mind to see something you wouldn't normally draw 💪🏻✍🏻 (I recorded this video before leaving for Japan)
