My older dog developed this little routine. He's not a big cuddler, but he will sit with you for 10-15 minutes or so, 30 if you're lucky. In the mornings now, as soon as I sit down on the couch, he'll jump up with me. It's our morning cuddle session.
Sometimes he'll look up at me waiting for an invitation before jumping. Other days, usually when I take too long, and he's sitting somewhere else in the morning I'll ask "Tater Tot do you want morning cuddles?" He follows after as we make our way to the couch.
The funny thing is too, if he doesn't get his morning cuddles, his mood seems worse for the day. Or at least if there's a few days in a row where we don't do it. So I always try to make sure we get in our morning cuddles, all ten minutes of them.
