oh don't worry about that! i went last summer right around when the last harry potter movie was coming out and i casually brought it up in a conversation with a group of girls in my dorm on the first day, and suddenly it became an entire connection between all of us (guys and girls) at NSLC that summer. each TA group even had a special harry potter spell. so no, you will not be left out because of your awkwardness (: you'll find connections with people you never thought were possible.

i don't know if this is late or anything, but NSLC was one of the best experiences of my life. i met some of my best friends there last summer and still talk to almost all of them daily. i know it's a lot of money, but it is worth every penny! if i could do it all over again, i would in a heartbeat.
It's not late actually. LOL Thanks for telling me and I have made up my mind to go to NSLC at Berkeley this July. I just feel a bit nervous for it since I might be too awkward. LOL
