   “no shit,” he can’t help the slight upward twitch in his jaw as the words are huffed out, and it must be written all over his face as he looks over at her: the mix of incredulity, along with a little awe on top of that. he’s always been more of a soldier than a spy—and, well, to put it bluntly, during the war there wasn’t much thought put into where to dispose the bodies of their dead enemies. now, their foes remain the same, but he’s long since learned this world is full of its own sorts of complexities. tracking & taking down the remaining HYDRA members that had gone underground had to be done discreetly  /  with tracks covered neatly, so as to not alert and scatter the others and set them back by days or weeks. still, there’s a certain ( terrifying ) feeling that comes with the knowledge that such lengthy measures have to be taken to properly dispose of a dead body. measures that natasha seems to be well acquainted with. “remind me to never piss you off.”
