Akunawa is a map of Teacup's head. Stewarded by the mysterious Dr. Aku and Mini-Tea, it is a meta-verse of Aku's different timelines, where all the Akus and their AUs live safe in their zoo. Torn-open portals around the land link all the worlds together, and though Aku's natural predator has been kept far away, they can still watch him as they used to. The Akus spend their days among their mirror images, in hopes that the lower Akus might learn from the higher...but they have been at this for 20 years already, so it's probably not happening any time soon.

He who wields absolute authority on Akunawa is the Aku who wields THE SWORD. We know not how or why. Dr. Aku claims the title of lord of the island, always on patrol to ensure the safety of all non-Aku guests. Every Aku must see him Wednesdays and Sundays for mandatory therapy sessions. He breaks patient confidentiality and relays information to Mini-Tea so that the world may learn the tales of Aku.

The first resident of Akunawa, closest to canon, and flattered by all the attention. Thankful for the break from THE SAMURAI, but simultaneously petitions for one to be imported so that he may be ceaselessly tormented for the amusement of all Aku. Some of them deeply disturb him -- too good, too perverse, too stupid -- all pale in comparison to the original.

Akamatsu is one of the human variants, yet he is indisputably the worst Aku on Akunawa. Though cheerful and charming, he's only pretending to be good; there is but a void of depravity where his soul is supposed to be. He's genuinely intrigued by the other Akus, but always butting heads with Dr. Aku for being a little too nice to the younger guests.
