The Circus is a 1928 silent romantic comedy film written, produced, and directed by Charlie Chaplin. The film stars Chaplin, Al Ernest Garcia, Merna Kennedy, Harry Crocker, George Davis and Henry Bergman. Al Ernest Garcia was born on March 11, 1887 in San Francisco, California, USA.
He was an actor and casting director, known for the films "Modern Times" (1936), "The Circus" (1928) and "City Lights" (1931). His earlier films with Charlie Chaplin include "The Idle Class" (1921), "Pay Day" (1922), "The Gold Rush" (1925). He was married to Ruth Garcia.
Al Ernest Garcia died on September 4, 1938 in Los Angeles, at the age of 51. He was an acclaimed actor, appearing in many films.
