Your inspiration crawls from the depths of your oppression and stands resilient Can we be lovers of God today, if you and your tribulations were absent? When you were murdered, our seas and skies seized all movement Everything stood breathless until breathless became your time’s tyrant

Your delicacy was put aside and the poison was given its job description The poison enters you fumed with regret and hate of itself, stirring a rebellion Any hurt that you felt was observed with sorrow and shame by the eyes of that poison It seeps in your every vein begging and seeking its Lord for the greatest pardon

O’ he who kept his harm in perspective of his brother’s, your liver pleads to stay in its place O’ he who leaves this world in pain but keeps his mind focused on Hussain’s face Knowing who you are, your body pushes all pain away and retains parts of grace Your patient nature kept truth alive so when in search, you are all we found to embrace

Life and death struggled when you left this world-life upset and confused while death was among pleasure When you were working tirelessly for each breath, your own lungs fueled with anger They were well aware that their purpose was to serve you and not make death harder So when they plead to you for help and forgiveness, won’t you soothe them and answer?
Keep us content... fuel our strength... host the moments of forgiveness Your love is sweet... sweeten our hearts... we wait for your light in our darkness Al-Mujtaba was left with a liver broken
