These Alabama Style Pulled Pork Sandwiches are a tasty take on the traditional pulled pork sandwich from the South. Slow-cooked pork is served with an Alabama white sauce that is both tangy and creamy.
Ingredients: 4 pounds pork shoulder, bone-in. 1 tablespoon kosher salt. 1 tablespoon black pepper. 1 tablespoon paprika. 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper. 1 cup apple cider vinegar. 1/2 cup mayonnaise. 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard. 8 hamburger buns. Dill pickle slices optional.
Instructions: In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Rub the mixture all over the pork shoulder. Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker and pour apple cider vinegar over it. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork. While the pork is cooking, prepare the Alabama white sauce. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Refrigerate until ready to use. Once the pork is done, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Discard any excess fat. To assemble the sandwiches, toast the hamburger buns. Place a generous portion of pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun. Drizzle with Alabama white sauce and top with dill pickle slices if desired. Top with the other half of the bun. Serve your Alabama Style Pulled Pork Sandwiches hot, and enjoy!
