The sun had only begun to descend on this warm summer day before he had dropped nearly dead onto a nearby park bench to take a nap. Really, this would have been much easier if he had bothered to practice the little tricks his Servant form had allowed him -- particularly, that of being able to shift into spirit form from a material one -- but as of yet he still had not grown fully into that mold. By the time he awoke -- and this was quite a rude awakening, mind you -- it had become quite dark, and the park itself was lit only by the sparse lights that accompanied it. He noticed a very criminal-looking figure not too far away from him, in fact he was directly in front of him. By the time he realized that he was being robbed of his saint fragments, it was nearly too late. In a flash, he had grabbed his bag back and swept the guy off his feet -- the would-be robber landed on his face, while Eren stood solidly on the concrete, sighing with what might’ve been an ever-present exhaustion or disappointment, had he expected any better. It was only then that he realized there was a witness to this, and from the looks of things, he himself -- the victim -- might seem like the aggressor here. He was well aware how easy it is to make a mistake like that in the dark, so he called out quickly to reassure whoever was out there -- it looked like a short lad of between fifteen and seventeen -- that everything was all right.
‘Hello there,’ he waved a hand, the other carrying his bag of gathered quartz. ‘No need to get the wrong idea; this guy was trying to take advantage of a tired guy on a park bench. He deserved to eat the concrete. Ahem.’ That didn’t quite come out how he might have liked, but all the same, it served its purpose well enough. ‘You must be a Servant, right? I can practically feel you dripping with...magical energy, or whatever that means.’
