Late Night Love
How, was always a question that bounced around in her head. She was content with watching from afar. There were no daydreams of Jade because Alexandra knew that it was the mission over personal connections.
Sure, she let herself enjoy the company of her crew but that was it.
But somehow that had all changed. Her promise of keeping everything strictly professional was thrown out the window when Jade confessed to her the feelings that she herself had been holding down for so long.
Despite that promise to herself, she did not regret breaking her own rules. Jade was in her arms, sound asleep. The only sound in the dark room was the occasional sigh from her lips. Lips that Alexandra wanted to kiss so badly. But that would disturb Jade from her sleep. She needed it. Being a geologist was hard work. She would spend hours outside, collecting rock samples to test only to come back and sleep for three or two hours.
Alexandra always tried to get her to sleep but when Jade got excited about rocks, there was no stopping her.
She smiled at the thought and pressed a gentle kiss to Jade’s brow. Jade mumbled something about rocks and stirred. Alexandra felt a bit upset when she saw Jade slowly wake up.
“Mmmm… Alex,” Jade stretched like a cat and opened her eyes. She smiled, causing Alexandra to melt against the sheets.
“You’re still awake? Were you watching me?” Jade’s smile turned into a smirk.
Alexandra chuckled and shook her head. “You have no evidence that I was doing such thing.”
Jade rubbed at her eyes and nuzzled against the crook of Alexandra’s neck. “Get some sleep Alex. Captaining is a hard job.”
“I know but tonight I can’t seem to sleep.”
“I can stay up with you.”
“No, you were up all night yesterday.”
“And…?”
“You need the rest.”
“Why should I sleep when I can kiss my girlfriend a hundred times?”
“Jade- mmf,” Alexandra was cut off by a searing kiss. Jade’s fingers twisting into the fabric of the Captain’s tank top. She didn’t pull away and Alexandra was happy that she didn’t.
“That’s one,” Jade said, panting when they both broke away for a breath.
Alexandra squished her cheeks with both hands to stop Jade from diving in for another kiss. “I love you but please. There’s an expedition tomorrow. We need rest.”
“Awwwwwwwwww,” Jade pouted, looking absolutely adorable with her squished cheeks.
Alexandra let go, sliding her hand over Jade’s shoulder and onto her hip.
“Fineeee. Only if we can have fun when we come back tomorrow.”
“We’ll see.”
“Don’t go Captain on me, Captain.”
“I would never.”
