Today in Tears for Fears history: May 17th 1993: Tears for Fears release their single Break It Down Again. The single, written by Roland Orzabal and Alan Griffiths, was the first single to be released from the album Elemental, which was also the first album that Curt Smith did not appear on. The music video includes clips of the band in a studio like setting with a multi-coloured backdrop and clips of Roland in a Californian desert.
Being the biggest hit from Elemental, Break It Down Again reached the top 10 in Canada, Italy, and the US Billboard Modern Hit Tracks and US Billboard Top 40 Mainstream charts. The song is also still regularly played at the band’s live shows today.
