Alan Tew & Bullet: “The Peterman”, The Hanged Man (1975)

Sometimes finding original samples come when you’re minding your own business. Omega WUSB is always looking at classic vinyl finds for our bonus resonance shows (jazz, fusion, library sounds, etc.). Right at this tracks’ 2:01 mark, what does it remind me of? All These Fingers’ “Puerta Vallarta” (’16), a vivid experience during one of the most eye-opening summers of recent. It’s the first I’ve ever heard of The Hangman, a British television series that lasted for only one season. Alan Tew wrote the original score, and Bullet becomes the orchestral recreation artists that also featured long-time music library legends as Barry Morgan, Les Hurdle, Frank Ricotti, Alan Parker, and Alan Hawkshaw. (Just how many Alans must be involved in this?) This very instance made me start my own WhoSampled account and this is my first entry. Hopefully it won’t be my last.

Another Look at "Hogwarts Legacy" on Gameplay Showcase

We’ve been treated to a new look at the long-awaited Hogwarts Legacy game on a gameplay showcase hosted on Twitch.

A tweet was put out before the showcase took place on the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter page, showing a Hogwarts student dressed in Hufflepuff robes standing inside Hogwarts.

  The gameplay showcase was led by Chandler Wood (community manager at Avalanche) and community host James Whitehead from XpectoGo, accompanied by Alan Tew (Game Director) and Boston Madsen (Senior Environment Artist). 

      Some of the game’s elements that were brought up included the character creator feature, which will allow you to style your character how you like, with a range of different physical characteristics available including different skin colors and hair types, and a variation of 1800s-style robes. Plus, for those who have a Harry Potter Fan Club account, if you link your account to the game, you’ll receive a special Fan-atic robe.

In the showcase, we also got a sneak peek of the Hufflepuff Commonroom; once your character has been stored in their Hogwarts House, they will be able to visit their common room and dormitory.

One exciting thing that was mentioned was that “no two hallways should look the same at Hogwarts,” so as you fully explore the castle and its grounds, recognizing the many iconic locations along the way, you can take in all the incredible detailing that has gone into creating this version of Hogwarts. While you explore the castle, be sure to keep an eye out for Peeves, who makes a welcome appearance in the game after having not been present in any of the Potter films.

It was also announced that there will be a range of side-quests and that taking part in classes will be a major feature in your experience of the game, equipping you with the ability to cast spells and give you major abilities, as well as the chance to get to know the professors.

  We don’t have too much longer to wait for the release of Hogwarts Legacy, which is set to launch on 10 February, 2023, and will be available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation5, PlayStation4, PlayStation4 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
