Are there any fun (or traumatic) facts you can share about Xornoth and Scott's childhoods in MoS, I know you mentioned before that Scott has slept in the snow before
Scott has slept in the snow, yes. He gave the slip to his caretakers many times and just wandered off into the winter. Fortunately when he was small he wasn't able to go far. But he absolutely gave more than one servant a heart attack when they found him curled up asleep, covered by a thin layer of snow that wasn't melting, even on his skin.
Xornoth was the first person to hold Scott after he was born. They were smitten immediately and promised to do everything in their power to keep their new baby brother safe.
Scott doesn't get cold and Xornoth doesn't overheat and they absolutely spend a lot of time being each others hot water bottle/ice-pack.
Xornoth almost froze to death their first winter and Scott almost died of heatstroke his first summer. Everyone knew, after that.
Xornoth knit a little blanket for baby Scott. It was Scott's comfort item for as long as he was allowed to keep it, even though he never needed it to stay warm.
They were each others' first friend.
Scott was very young when Xornoth was exiled, about the elvish equivalent of second grade. (Xornoth was the elvish equivilant of mid-teens)
Within the span of two weeks I have on and off binged your MoS au and absolutely love it. Most shockingly, I adore Joey in this au, which is weird because I have watched none of his content. However I love how you write this silly bird man. So if I may, what is Joey like outside of a Xornoth context, what's his relationship with the other WRA members, what's he relationship with the Cod Alliance, especially Lizzie?
Hello!
I saw you in my notes! I'm so happy you've been enjoying it!
Outside of a Xornoth context, Joey honestly doesn't change much. Joey is very Joey at all times, if nothing else he is very consistent XD
Of the other WRA members, MoS Joey, ironically, doesn't interact that much with Sausage. They've met of course, and done all the political diplomacy alliance things, but outside of that setting they really don't interact much.
fWhip is the WRA member Joey interacts with the most, as his geographic neighbor and also the first person he met outside the borders of his own empire. Calling them friends would probably be a stretch but they get along. fWhip helped Joey with the initial language and cultural barriers and introduced him to the rest of the WRA.
He mostly interacts with Gem either in the context of fWhip also being there, or in negotiations with the Crystal Cliffs to allow researchers and trade of information. The Lost Empire has some very unique elemental magic that the wizards are very interested in and The Lost Empire is very reluctant to share. And that's leaving aside Joey's ability to make totems of undying. :)
Pearl and Joey also don't interact much, there is some agricultural trade but its mostly based around luxury food items, like fruit, as both empires are very stable agriculturally.
Lizzie is really the only other ruler he has much interaction with at this point, which is a relationship entirely made up of petty border disputes and small scale military harassment. When Joey took down the magical border that protected The Lost Empire, it also meant that the river was restored and now functions as a waterway directly into the heart of the empire from the coast. Both Lizzie and Joey have utilized this many times for nefarious reasons.
