woah holy moly TWO art pieces in the last week? Well hot damn!
I decided to work on Team OPRA pre-volume 4 a little bit as a means of giving some care and love to a period in the story that has no art due to my lack of skill since then. But now since i’ve become more confident as an artist i feel that I can go back and revisit some old elements of the story that I want to touch up on.!
One of the things about early RWBY that I think they should’ve delved more into was how characters expressed themselves through the uniforms of their academies. Besides Ruby in her hood we didn’t really get a deeper look into that so I thought i’d take that into account when exploring the Haven uniforms.
Characters like Ophelia, Pierre and Albert wear the uniform to its most standard but still differently, for example how Ophelia wears tights instead of the white socks and how Albert rolls his sleeves up. I also decided to add a pin to Ophelia’s jacket that designates her as the leader of OPRA just as a fun world-building tidbit for the academies. Rhea on the other hand customises her outfit the most while still keeping into some level of the academy’s policies. I thought that it would play into her character and attitudes relating to self expression in remnant.
So now that I have this confidence I’ll try my best to draw some pieces set during the beginning academy volumes. I hope that it’ll allow me to capture and share elements of the story that weren’t expressed before!
“All I’m saying is that you two acted like complete assholes to her! All because she can’t make up her mind. She needs us.”
“Well if you hate being here so much why don’t you just go, we’ll be just fine without you too.”
“No! This isn’t us! What the hell is your problem, Rhe?! This isn’t you! This isn’t Team OPRA!”
“If that’s how you’re going to act i’m gonna make you-”
“Guys, stop! Something’s going on out there..”
As The Masquerade Ball goes on in the Illyria Opera House, the remnants of Team OPRA work on watching over the streets as they lay fractured. Now exiling their leader, they’ve become a shell of their former selves and Albert takes frustration with this. While Rhea and unfortunately Pierre stand firm in their beliefs that they need to cut Ophelia loose to move forward.
While Albert isn’t aware of the goings-on inside his teammates heads, he still believes that what they did was completely unnecessary and cruel, especially now that Ophelia is dealing with The Phantom’s torment.
Before Rhea and Albert’s arguing can devolve into anything worse, chaos breaks out on the street in the aftermath of The Phantom’s appearance, leaving their discussion in the air as they scramble to contain the rippling effects of the negativity that the attack caused.
Masquerade, paper faces on parade. Masquerade, hide your face so the world will never find you! Masquerade, every face a different shade. Masquerade, look around, there's another mask behind you!
RWBY Fandom and beyond, It is my absolute pleasure to introduce the fourth volume of Team OPRA’s tale in the land of Remnant: The Phantom’s Opera.
After the collapse of Beacon Academy, Team OPRA and CRTN travel to Illyria and become employed under the military and its leader, General Orsino Gladio. The lingering trauma of the Battle for Beacon hangs over the two teams heads as they struggle to adapt to a new life. But something... someone lurks in the shadows of Illyria... And Ophelia has a past with it. New friends and foes appear and OPRA & Co will do whatever it takes not only to protect Illyria.... but also Ophelia.

Rhea: I'm attracted to women.
Albert: Oh, so you're a lesbian?
Rhea: No, i'm from vacuo?
Team OPRA Volume 4 - Albert Régalien
The Fall of Beacon brought a special kind of pain onto Albert. The trauma of having to witness such a close friend and team mate like Ophelia be hurt so badly... almost die in his arms... it brings back memories of a similar pain when he was a child. Now residing in Illyria, Albert only wishes to forget that ever happened and move on. With the resources provided by the Illyrian military, Albert was able to upgrade his team’s weapons. However as Ophelia begins to become indecisive about what path she wishes to take, Albert is unsure of which side to be on, and the appearance of the mysterious man from Ophelia’s past will only make him more unsure of what to do...

👘 = Does your muse try to keep up with fashion trends, or do they wear whatever they want? for Albert
Albert is very much into keeping up with the newest fashion trends. Being from Atlas, he’s always been in on the recent social media trends, so fashion hasn’t been forgotten.
After so long, here is the final alternative attire for Albert and the last of OPRA alternative attire! Codenamed Disc Jockey, This is a more casual look on him, more akin to what he would wear back in Atlas.
(I had to reupload this becaue t*mblr decided that it wouldn’t show it at all.)
