oh yeah that's because scar is convinced his feelings are one-sided and that there is no way someone much older like cub would consider him seriously (maybe as a one night stand yea sure) and on top of that scar is used to not being the first choice anyway (at least in this au)
so with grian and mumbo he is confident he is gonna just insert himself between the two because they would kick him out if they really didn't like him since they're very blunt and he is calm that if there is an issue, they would tell him or even yell at him about it
but cub doesn't seem to get angry no matter what he does and he is getting more and more scared he is just tolerating scar because he doesn't care and he doesn't matter to cub
and then you see cub just thinking scar is cute and whatever he does is just endearing to him and not annoying and that's why he doesn't get angry. scar gets away with a lot of bullshit because he is cute and he knows it, except with cub because it feels too good to be true
