☝🏻👀•Walk along the murario section of Alcúdia, declared Historic Artistic Site• ✍🏻The first wall was built in the fourteenth century under the command of King James II, being destroyed after the war of the Germanies (1521-1523). At the end of the 16th century, a new construction phase began, again demolished in the 19th century. ✍🏻It was a quadrangular structure with 26 towers distributed along a perimeter of 1.5 km and an average height of 6 m. It had a pit, which still exists. Two doors are preserved from the original wall: the "Porta" of Moll or Xara, to the east, and the "Porta" of Sant Sebastiá, to the west. ✍🏻Only the bastion of Sant Ferran is preserved from the second enclosure, since the bullring was built inside. A quick collage of our time at the Zafiro Tropic (used to be Viva Tropic) in Alcudia, Majorca 🌴☀️. After having had this recommended to use by a number of friends, we chose this hotel for our 10 night stay on the island and we weren’t disappointed (Sept 2017). This was a lovely 4 star hotel with a great relaxed family feel. We chose the all inclusive package which we loved, never saying no to sangria/ cocktails sat by the pool! 😃🙈🍷 The hotel has a choice of 4x outdoor pools (1x adults only), an outside children’s water play area (pirate themed with a big ship) and an indoor pool 🏊‍♀️ connected to the spa area (Albeit it was absolutely freezing on our visit). The hotel is also a short 8-10 minute walk from the main beach strip of Alcudia so if sunbathing is your thing there is a good selection of places to catch that tan 😎. This area had a lively night life feel but nothing to over the top. We defiantly felt safe and it would be suitable for family’s with a varied selection of different restaurants and bars. Not to mention your beach side shops / discount designer markets. With the all inclusive package at the Zafiro Tropic we had the selection of a buffett breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Everyday the menu changed to a themes/ specific cuisine, e.g Chinese, Mexican.... As well as the buffet there was also a bar menu served during the late morning -afternoon which had an excellent choice of pizzas, salad (see above picture), burgers etc. Overall we highly recommend this hotel and no doubt upon our return to Alcudia would re-book this hotel in a heartbeat!! Also not to forget the amazing smell that fills the reception/ lobby area of the hotel!
