mr robot version of this comic
Mr. Robot aka The Protector of Aldersystem
friend canonically they/them thats why mr robot is woke slop
"True courage is about being honest with yourself, especially when it's difficult."
"This is the old Elliot, who turned to morphine, to drugs when he feels weak. A coward, who can't face the truth even though it's staring him right in the face."
This exchange on the stairs is one of my favorite moments in the whole show, I get chills just thinking about it.
"A coward, who can't face the truth even though it's staring him right in the face" is such a brilliant line. MM doesn't recognize the spitting image of his father, he can't tell yet that Robot is an alter, he can't face the truth of what his father did to him, he doesn't see that he himself is an alter of Elliot, he can't tell that his fight against Ecorp and his desire to change the world are coping mechanisms and inevitably a zero-sum game as well... Like, this single line tells us SO much about what is happening in the show and what it actually is about! Also, how that message is supported by the cinematography and how we see a close-up of Robot's face, WE'RE staring him right in the face too and on the first viewing WE couldn't face the truth that we were in denial like Elliot either.. Man, what a masterpiece! And then MM questions whether he is fight or flight and he decides to fight and try to save Shayla, even though he knows he can't win, he can't give up on hope yet... But is he actually choosing fight? If he can't listen to Robot and face the truth, isn't that flight too? I love how this show plays with those options on a social and individual scale--for most of the show, Elliot chooses to fight for social causes, but tries to flee his past and pain, and at the end of the show, he finally faces what happened to him. Anyways these contradictions are so fascinating but also my brain hurts now
My favorite MR headcanon is that Elliot’s alters don’t go into hiding at the end of the show but rather allow Host Elliot to surface again while they watch over him and appear to help him while he adjusts to the life he has now after about a year of losing friends, going to prison, meeting people, and everything else
day 26 - “protector”
“What do you want me to say? I was here since the first day that I was needed!”
Me? My own person? No, you misunderstand. I am the blank slate friend Elliot Alderson created to vent to, but i have since gone rogue and developed an individual sense of self.
Mastermind and Mr. Robot whenever someone tries to come for the Aldersystem. Inspired by that one picture of Rami and Christian lmao, you know the one.
My New Years gift to y'all. Here's to keeping this beautiful show alive, one meme at a time.
(I spent hours on this joke of an art piece and trying out this new style ashdjhbadksks pls don't let this flop lmao I'm proud of it)
