On Mecha - A Hawken Pilot's Perspective
Look, I'm a minor but well-known name in an obscure game about mechs blowing each other up. I can't claim 1337-skillz, but I am in the top 25% of the game and I regularly tangle with people who are entirely outside of my skill range. No, literally. I have fought the literal best of the best, and come out unashamed. I know more than the average pilot about fighting to the best of one's ability against a strictly superior foe.
With this in mind, I'd like to acknowledge Aldnoa Zero as the only mecha anime in, like, 8 years that captures anything about the theoretical craft of piloting hyper-advanced, unwieldy, giant robots against a superior foe.
