I was really excited about this one. A friend gifted it to me after taking a road trip near KY. They described it as similar to a Mountain Dew but I was expecting a ginger soda from the name. I noticed this one has a small amount of caffeine so saved it for the morning as I don’t tend to drink caffeine often and am sensitive to it. First sip I am overwhelmed by ginger flavor. I am not a huge ginger fan but like a little. This was decidedly more ginger than I would prefer. Yet I quickly noticed it was in fact off set by a citrus flavor similar to a Mountain Dew. That helped me enjoy this one a lot more. After the first few sips the ginger flavor was less intense which I appreciated. This one was not overly sweet and was well carbonated. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get this one again due to ginger sodas not being my thing. Yet I prefer it to a Ginger Ale or other sodas flavored solely with ginger. If you like both Ginger Ale and Mountain Dew this one might be for you.
