Tag, you’re it! Here are the rules: Each tagged person must post ten things about themselves. AND THEN TAG 10 MORE PEOPLE!
Wow, first time I've ever been tagged for one of these on Tumblr :O Um, uh, hrm.
1. I pronounce "meme" as "meh-may," even though the supposed "official" pronunciation is "MEEM" because "meem" just sounds stupid to me and it kind of makes me twitch when I hear it out loud.
2. For whatever reason, even though I don't consider it a really important part of my identity, I often write online bios with my gender and sexual preference (or lack thereof). I think it stems to a really long conversation I had once in 2007ish where I was the only girl in a group of gamers who were talking on vent late and night and the subject of how often we all masturbate came up, and I said "never" and they had no idea how to parse that at all. And it wasn't like a giggling "ooh we're talking about naughty bits" conversation either, we actually had a semi-serious talk about it like quasi-mature adults. Shocking!
3. Somewhat related: I have trouble seeing social boundaries sometimes. I'm comfortable talking about a lot of private things in public venues and I end up making a lot of people kind of uncomfortable sometimes cos they don't want to just tell me to shut my mouth, haha.
4. I hate mushrooms, mayonnaise, and sour cream. I'd go so far as to say I was mildly allergic, except I think my reaction to them is more psychosomatic than anything else. There are other foods that I don't like but those three just make my stomach churn. I AM actually allergic to caffeine and chocolate (due to the caffeine) though :| Not anaphylactic shock-allergic but it does do some pretty nasty things to my digestive tract.
5. I had this idea for a Homestuck ask blog a long time ago and I still kind of want to do it, but I'm kind of nervous to do so for two reasons: first, it might not be as awesome an idea as I think it is and people might just flat-out not care (and ask blogs can't really run without asks!), and second is the opposite: what if people really like it and I get overwhelmed? And I guess number three is that I still can't really decide on an art style for it because I have such a massive problem these days with being overzealously nitpicky about my own art so everything takes foreeeever :|
6. I'm "comfortable" with my body image, by which I mean I've come to terms with how I look and for the most part I don't try to hide it nearly as much as I used to. That being said, it still freaks me out when someone else considers me attractive because THEY'RE CRAZY.
7. Since I was ten or eleven (I'm 26 now) I've been cultivating a sort of... I'm not sure how to phrase this... a sort of "logical counterpoint" thought process so that even when I'm in the throes of some emotion, a part of my brain is still able to function and I don't just shut down completely. It's sort of warped itself into a "guilt drive" lately though, and makes it quite difficult to make a decision without a built-in devil's advocate. Alex often takes on the role of portraying it when I draw out my battles with myself, which is kind of weird because that wasn't initially in his character description, haha.
8. I really like helping other people improve in their chosen craft, and (though it's kind of hard to get critique on critique) I think I'm usually pretty okay at it. I hardly ever do it unless it's specifically requested for a specific image/story/whatever though, because I worry too much about catching somebody in the wrong frame of mind and making their day awful, even if I've been given a blanket "critique me any time you see it being needed" pass :/
9. I'm a lot more comfortable in group discussions/chats/channels than I am with private messages or one-on-one talks. Even if there's just one other person online when I'm playing World of Warcraft, I will always choose to talk to them in guildchat or in one of our chat channels than in tells or whispers. I'm not sure why. Related: when we get a new shaman trial and they keep coming to me with questions in whispers instead of talking in the shaman channel (which is usually just me + them ANYWAY) it drives me batshit and I'll sometimes resent them for it for no discernible or logical reason.
10. Those super-long strings of questions (put the number in my askbox!) memes look interesting and I kind of want to do some of them (assuming my ask box would actually get input haha) but they really annoy the shit out of me when they end up on my dash, at least when they're like 150+ questions long and they're in a "chat" post which means each line is like 25 pixels tall or more. Scrolllllll scroll scroll scroll blugh. Very much related: when someone posts a link to their livestream or their sideblog or something else and does it
on multiple lines like this

I pretty much want to shove my foot up their anus. To be fair, I've done the same thing in the past and it doesn't bother me every time, but it really doesn't make your link stand out any more than just having it on one line does, and in certain moods makes me read your link as "LOOK AT MEEEEEEEEE" kind of pathetic. But again, not all the time. Just when I'm feeling especially cynical, haha.
