Remembered my era when i was drawing such comic-like stuff for the projmoon ask thing. I love webtoon format the most. I really wanted to draw a radiant sunny day... When I was at the process of coloring I suddenly thought "why they are wearing their work uniform rn" lets just say they have spare time for a date!!

i was reading the king in yellow the other day and omfg i felt in LOVE with one of yours. did he have some interesting facts?? really want to know more. Anything, just anything.

Thank you so much, I'm really happy to hear that! Actually, I could talk about Alec for a very long time.

Initially, I thought Alec was a Pointillist student, but then, with the appearance of new sub-factions of The Ring in the ninth Canto, I thought he might be an Expressionist or a Surrealist? Haven't quite decided on that yet...

What's important is that by the standards of The Ring, Alec was never a good artist. His works are always technically sound, well-crafted, but they lack that spark of genius that would allow him to rise in the hierarchy of the Syndicate. The harshest insult he ever received was the remark that his hands are the hands of a crafted artwork, not of a creator.

That's precisely why Alec, suffering from a lack of recognition and a desire to outshine others, became the perfect vessel for the will of the King in Yellow! However, being too frightened by his nightmares and the prospect of descending into madness, he does not accept the King. His main paradox is that he is utterly deceitful, yet desperately craves to be seen, so he just keeps hiding behind the mask of a languid artist.

Thus, in his Bad End ID, Alec fully embraces the King (alongside the complete madness), and only then will he be acknowledged in the Syndicate. He will put on the Maestro's ring like a crown. It becomes unclear where Alec ends and the King in Yellow begins, which is a bow to Hildred from the book's first story.

Here are a few more facts:

During the corrosion of some E.G.O.s, clear imperative notes appear in his speech — you could say you can "hear" the King's echo, hehe.

In the Mirror World of Lobotomy Corporation, Alec wears E.G.O. gear from The Burrowing Heaven and is an employee of the Central Command Department. (also on his toyhouse profile you can find some quotes from his various IDs and E.G.O. including this one)

He genuinely dislikes Gwynplaine and Griffin. The former because he, being a performer, hogs the spotlight. The latter —because he is a self-proclaimed genius, and Alec has a clear disregard for such big statements.

Aaaand I also drew a sprite of Alec in his base LCBT Sinner identity and Base E.G.O.!
