"I can't believe this is our last year here together." Bellatrix was still putting away some of the things she'd thus far been too busy sorting into the small drawers provided to the elder students in their more lavish dorms. "I have no doubt that you'll take over just fine. Show them who's in charge when I'm not around to do it anymore." The brunette whirled around, beaming at her friend. It was such a rare gesture. Where others would get snark or the hidden bite of a snake, eyes or voice laced with venom or a certain not all that detectable fabricated niceness, Alecto had only ever received care. It was something reserved for very few, mainly her family.
The witch turned around, reaching for the suitcase as she pulled out a small bag. "I brought you something. From France. I can't exactly spend my entire summer in a different area of the world and not bring my friend at least a little something, hm?" Bellatrix placed the small package on her friends' bedside table and motioned for the other to open it. Perhaps it wasn't a world-changing item, but something that the brunette hoped her friend would find useful all the same.
"Besides that, anything I missed at that party? I was only around for a short while! You certainly seemed by far more social." There it was, that flicker of mischief and chaos in her eyes.
