Quoting Milton in a suicide note.  If the old boy did do it, he’s got a certain funny way of expressing himself.  As for what it means, well, that last bit just sort of sums it up without really explaining it at all.  Man had everything at his fingertips.  Wealth.  Power.  Influence. 

So why kill himself?

The gossip rags’ll tell you he made his bucks off of the tech-boom.  Computer whiz kid, invented some chip or cog or whatsit in his basement and single-handedly revolutionized the industry.  Turned one success into a dozen before backing off the company reigns and letting his Board of Directors take over SimTech.  He’s been here half a dozen years or so, if memory serves.  Bought this huge mansion on the hill without even batting an eye, or so the stories go.

That’s him, there: the DB—dead body, in cop talk.  Alec St. James, millionaire, genius, and personal friend of the Mayor’s.  Found here less than an hour ago, congealing in his own blood.

They’re calling it a suicide for now, but that’s mostly on account of the note they found saying as much.

I don’t think anyone buys it.
