- a lesson they learned in their childhood
Do angels even have a childhood :’( Assuming they do, I’d say they had the importance of purity hammered into them at a very young age.
- a reason they have for getting out of bed each morning
Making the world a “better” place–purifying the world and purging the unclean is a full-time job, after all.
I think they–Ash especially–really struggle with feelings of inadequacy. They act like they’ve got something to prove, and I think it’s because they feel that, deep down, they can’t match the incredibly high standards they’ve set for others.
Tenacity. They can pursue a goal with a very impressive single-mindedness.
- how they think others perceive them
Intimidating, holy, pure.
- how they perceive themselves
I think they perceive themselves as being holy, pure, better than everyone. But I think, deep down, they know they’re not–they can’t be, not with some of the things they’ve done. So, in an effort to avoid having to face that, they double down on the “I am holy, I am pure” mindset.
- whether or not they consider themselves a ‘decent’ person
Absolutely. The best most decent person you ever saw.
- a temptation / proclivity they have
Well, Angela fucked the dog so :’( But really, I can see them indulging in rich foods; I don’t know why. :’( And of course there’s Ash’s temper. So the angel is succumbing to the sins of lust, gluttony, and wrath.
- an alternate career to what they have in canon (if applicable)
If I can go with a modern AU? Televangelist. Easy. A hellfire-and-brimstone televangelist.
I don’t think they allow themselves the luxury, really. Although they do enjoy spending time outdoors.
