Its not a flashy page but its a page as a collector of original art I look for in pages. Flames cover up a multitude of sin but make great ways to create motion and movement. Since we are in the gunfighter mode I wanted to establish the distance again. A normal Ducati average speed is 170+ mph.... and this is a top of the line hellbike. The bikes a bullet in this scenario. So cue the western gunfighter music meeting at noon on the streets of tombstone just before shit goes sideways. Now. The kids are geeks, ones sporting the FFs 4 logo and his friend a Star Trek Delta shield. I really enjoyed working on GR with Rob. There’s always some good fun stuff to draw and areas where I can expand artistically. Remember when I said sometimes I do multiple layouts and ask for thoughts, this is one of those times. While I like the ‘b’ version when I look at it now there’s no interaction with there environment it’s just poses for posing, maybe just me? Plus no room for the word balloons, trying to be mindful of that. Series Writer was Rob Williams and included is his script. Trivia or personal insight ‘ I love to destroy shit in my drawings!! ’ Raze a few city blocks? I’m your guy. Nothing more satisfying. Write that on my tombstone This was a page were I made a tough choice. There’s two options; the dramatic hero shot that Rob asked for OR the storytelling page establishing location, distance, slightly vague figure from the villains POV also asked for by Rob. I went with storytelling or option ‘B’ I knew I had several more ‘beauty’ shots of flaming skullgurl. Plus seeing the mass destruction setting sets a mood with the tiny lone figure amongst carnage. I enjoy pages with options, from time to time and often submit layouts asking for opinions on them. Most of the time it’s a flip or flop a image. Sometimes its a different panel construction for timing, rarely, but it happens ignore script?, not quite give the intent the writers asking for which is not necessarily what’s written in the script. TPtB increased GR in the printed version which irked me. Its only noticeable if you drew it. My first Marvel after almost 10 yrs at DC. Series Writer was Rob Williams and included is his script. Trivia Started with my second issue but Ghost Rider #1, Theres a point 1 issue but it didn’t feature Alejandra and I couldn’t find the script. “ Each ‘Rider’ was to have there own unique bike. Johnny would have his classic 70s ” I wanted to differentiate the difference between Ghost Riders, much of Johnny, at least when I was brought onboard, was based on Danny’s design. So much so that it became confusing. I know of one artist working on a fantastic comic drew the Danny version of GR but the human version was Johnny. Not anymore was my thought. Johnny went back to the ‘Evel Knievel’ makes a deal with the Devil look. So no chains, that’s Danny. Flaming hands and leather jumpsuit that’s it...also no chopper bike that’s Danny’s too. They are vastly different characters let’s make that clear. I love that Rob included links to reference, a first for me. I had found reference for Lilith but apparently drew the wrong one... no one said shit. Im missing the last page LO but still looking. Included is my model sheets, bike studies, initial drawings. My first Marvel after almost 10 yrs at DC. Trivia Started with my second issue but Ghost Rider #1, Theres a point 1 issue but it didn’t feature Alejandra and I couldn’t find the layouts. Alejandra had long hair until the very last minute, the editors idea. The covers were done and based on the initial design. Im at a loss though for why the outfit is baggy on them or the back ups. Each ‘Rider’ was to have there own unique bike. Johnny would have his classic 70s with fairing ( based on my late fathers bike growing up ) and rock the leather jumpsuit again and eventually a Space-bike. Danny would get his chopper and biker look back as well. Alejandra got a Ducati and while starting out in a black outfit after her ‘baptism of fire’ would sport a silver jumpsuit look making her stand out allowing her a different look, even if just slightly. The Orb would have a classic 70s. Sadly I left before designing Danny and Orb for our title.
