My favourite song from one of my favourite bands, the lead singer of which is one of the most important people to have ever entered my life.  I met Alex when I was in high school and in the lowest place mentally that I had ever been in, and the things that he taught me in the time I got to spend with him have stuck with me ever since.  I would have ended up in a far worse place if I had never met him or been given the gift of his music.  So if you ever see this, Alex, just know that you did so much for me, and everytime I listen to your music- ALL your music- it reminds me that I’m not alone, and that there are other people who have gone through the things that I did and made it out the other end, stronger and ready help someone else.  Thank you and keep doing what you do because you save lives with it.

The winners of our latest "Can YOU Sing? competition for Phillip Phillips Gone Gone Gone - have not only made the song their own, but they completely reinvented it and made something super stella!!!!!!

Canadian group The Boom Boom are a familiar face. They won our very first "Can You Sing?" competition back in August of 2011 with this cover of Beyonces Best Thing I Never Had.

For their take on Phillips Gone Gone Gone, the The Boom Boom turned the folky song into a quirky electro gem that reminds us of No Doubt!

Alex Biro - 12 Days, 3 Years (Official Music Video)

  Last February, I flew up to Canada to spend some time with my boyfriend, Colyn, while he was on tour with his band, In League. When I got to the airport, this Alex's mom and Colyn were waiting for me. She drove us back to her house. Alex was nice enough to let me use his shower and, what I came to find, nice enough to put up In League for a huge amount of time. Hearing that Colyn had never had real Canadian syrup, Alex's mom prepared a huge breakfast for In League, Alex, and me. I'll never forget the hospitality Alex and his mom showed Colyn's band and me. After watching this music video, I can honestly say that I am extremely impressed and hopefully anyone who watches this will welcome Alex into their hearts as he and his family did for In League and me.
