I just can't do it any longer. The music business is a bunch of jive bullshit and I don't want us to be available for the public to mutilate and misrepresent. I feel we can exist in more interesting ways while producing more interesting art. And our peers don't challenge the industry AT ALL, just complain to each other about "having" to play shows for bullshit sponsors. I think it's all a pathetic attempt for a current counterculture and I can't have anything to do with it. Life is too short and music is too important.

Milk Music gör det inte allt för lätt för sig med sitt pubertala anammande av varje fördom anno 1980-tal om hur en sann rockstjärna bör vara. Frontmannen i Milk Music tillika dess drivande kraft Alex Coxen komboröker och spelar gitarr tillsammans med  Charles Waring, eller som när gruppen börjar sitt framträdande på Pitchfork Festival 2012 med att ropa “Kill your parents, fuck yourself" och på debutplattan “Cruise Your Illusion" inte bara parafraserar Guns N’ Roses utan stolt skriver ut på konvolutet att: “Marijuana supplied by Arthur".

Men även om allt detta kan ses som barnsliga snedsteg i bandets image är det trots allt det som tillsammans med musiken ger bandet en aura av något genuint. För Milk Music gör musik som osar inrökt villagarage och ett banalt övermått av självförtroende med påverkan av (inte bara thc) Dinosaur Jr, Jane’s Addiction och Neil Young. “Cruise Your Illusion" är utgiven på CD av Fat Possum och om jag förstått rätt av bandet själva (Not On Label) på vinyl.
