Happy May Day!  The revolution today is brought to you by Steph Hughes (Dick Diver, Boomgates).  Today sees the release of two (revolutionary!) Melbourne, Australia bands featuring Steph.  Alex McFarlane is behind the production along with Mikey Young.  The other cassette is Blank Statements.

The Stroppies sound more like the languid Aussie pop made popular by the likes of Dick Diver.  Blank Statements has a bit more keyboard and minimalist approach - in some ways it reminds me of Cold Beat or Young Marble Giants.

Both are released on Hobbies Galore (also based in Melbourne).
