DFW Beauty Bombshell: Alex Small
Name & Age:
Alex Small, 21
Profession:
SMU student, fashion blogger
A little background:
As someone who is in love with fashion and beauty, starting my blog Small 4 Style in 2011 was the perfect outlet for my obsession. I have one more semester at SMU to finish my finance degree and fashion media minor. My goal is to become a buyer.
Favorite thing to do in the DFW?
Going to fashion events that seem to be always going on in Dallas is the best. I like to discover fun new stores, restaurants and places to hang out. I also love shopping and catching up with friends when I’m not studying or blogging.
Any beauty regimens you'd like to share with our readers?
When it comes to makeup, I feel like I’ve tried it all. I tend to splurge on eye shadows, face powders, and under-eye concealers. For foundation and mascara, Covergirl and Rimmel products work just as well as the expensive stuff. I’ve also fallen in love with my Clarisonic! It’s definitely worth the investment because it’s been the best thing for my skin. I also use Nude ProGenius oil from Sephora on my face at night and eye cream before bed. Once a week, I indulge in a bubble bath, deep condition my hair, and do a face mask.
Favorite DFW beauty brands and/or beauty related services?
Polished has great mani-pedi deals for members and the atmosphere is really welcoming. Robby from Ulta at Preston and Forest has been doing my hair for the past 7-ish years and I love him!
What are some of your favorite local boutiques?
Shop September and Piermarini are two of my favorites in Snider Plaza. Edo Popken has amazing menswear. I think Front Door Fashion is also pretty awesome. I also can’t resist a good deal at Nordstrom Rack or something with bows and sparkles from Kate Spade.
If you could have dinner with any local DFW woman, who would it be? Why?
That’s such a tough question because I’ve met so many extraordinary fashion people in Dallas over the years. I would love to have dinner with a group of Dallas women: Yvonne Crum, Lisa Petty and Dawn Mellon. They are three of the most special ladies to me in Dallas and I know that we could talk for hours.
