Alex hated this town. Her memories of Silver Creek had been buried years ago, shoved into a mental box and left to rust and rot, and she had been happy with things that way, thank you very much. But it was just their luck that, eventually, a lawyer managed to track her down - which is how they learned that their grandmother was dead, they were the sole inheritor of her will, and that they now owned the cottage and everything else she had left in Silver Creek. Part of her wanted to sell it all off, sight unseen, wash her hands of it and let someone else do the work of getting rid of memories she didn’t care to remember. But making bad decisions was all she did anymore, it seemed, and two days ago she had stepped back into that cottage for the first time in fifteen years - only to turn around and walk right back out. The second day hadn’t gone much better - so here she was, sitting on a barstool at what she had been told was the spot to be at night, thankfully left alone by others. At least, until someone approached her, spotted out of the corner of her eye, and Alex sighed, speaking before they had a chance to. “Unless you’re buying me a drink or have a very convincing reason I should consider fucking you, this seats taken.”
