Alex stood behind the wall, letting out a breath as he waited for his parents to go out of view. He turned, noticing someone behind him. He knew he must have looked a little weird. “Should I admit that I am 28 years old and I am hiding from my parents?” he said with a laugh.
Sometimes Imogen wondered why she even bothered dating. She found herself walking faster as she made her way towards her car. "Thank god," she breathed to herself, letting out a breath when her car came into view. She just wanted to be back home, out of this dress and cup of tea in her hand. "People are dicks," she said out loud, leaning against her car door.
Eddie felt like he was simply going through the motions some days. He could feel eyes on him, the guy with lost sister. And working in a bar made it very hard to avoid eyes. He was sat on a bench outside, he threw a piece of bread from his lunch at a squirrel who ran towards it and he smiled. Sometimes the simple things were nice.
He glanced to a nearby person. “The squirrel won’t leave me alone now will it?” he joked, before glancing down at his phone. He let a laugh as he looked up at the person beside him. “Okay, I am going to sound like a total dad right now. My son is at his friend’s house and he has just sent me ‘Come for me in half an hour, we're grinding for XP’, is that some term for apparently working hard in a game? It makes a change from him asking me for money for some overpriced cosmetic.”
“Falling in love with a guy at Starbucks sounds really cute, but all I see is middle aged moms in yoga pants and eleven year olds with iPhones. Damn romcoms for setting high expectations.”
“This is just my wallet, I have pictures of Tay’s cats in there. But really lets talk about theses glasses.” Hinting at the statement piece resting upon her nose, Cara’s attention had been drawn to them instantly, “So cool, yeah?”
It's at times like these that you wish that your life wasn't broadcasted to the entire world. But, what can ya do?
