MEISA End of the Year Wrap Up, More to Come

Hi everyone!

Since the school year is over we just wanted to give a big thanks to all the students and faculty that came out to our events over the past few months. This has been an incredible year for MEISA and it would not have been possible without the support of our awesome members. Through collaboration with various student groups we were able to host twelve events throughout the school year showcasing a variety of music genres, brought guest speakers to campus, organized a trip to NYC, and even got ourselves a fancy new logo.  

So thanks again to all you who made it possible! Let’s hope next year is bigger and better than the last.  

For all of you who are still on campus we have one more event coming up on June 2nd to celebrate summer in style. If you’re not on campus start booking your travel back to Boston. This event will be the biggest in our club's history.

Justice In Eyre Anniversary Competition

Northeastern's own Justice In Eyre clothing is holding a competition in honor of their one year anniversary by putting together a band showcase. They are currently looking for three bands to play sets before the rest of their roster. The winner of the competition will win a slot on the Justice In Eyre roster and an endorsement deal. 

To enter your band you can send the following information to [email protected]: - Contact information - A link to your music online - Your band's website if applicable and all of your bands social media profile links (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) 

The competition ends in early March pending how many entries are received and the showcase should happen June. Stay tuned for more details and let's hope a few NU bands make the list! Good luck!

9/19 MEISA Meeting Recap

Here's what you might have missed at the meeting. Remember, our weekly meetings are Monday's in at 6PM in 33 Snell basement.

We are currently looking for suggestions for places to visit during our New York City trip on November 4th. Some of the places suggested were:

-Dominion -Bowery -Matador Records -Fuse -MTV -Photofinish Records

If you have any other suggestions bring them to our next meeting or email us at [email protected]. The NYC trip is a great way to explore possible places to go on coop and gain access to companies that you otherwise wouldn't be able to.

We also spoke about what sort of DJs you would like to see compete at our DJ Battle for the Zombie Ball at Estate. Some of the genres suggested were:

-Top 40 (with a drop) -Dub -Hip Hop -House -Techno
