Absolutely stunned by both the tenderness and the rawness of Darlington calling Alex his Dante.

Yes, he resents her. She was not his pick. She was the last person he wanted to fill that role. Her mere existence took away something that he had wanted more than anything. She has everything he has ever wanted and she doesn't even care about it. It infuriates him to no limit but he still calls her 'my dante'.

As if acknowledging, that in some way, even when he resents her and she betrayed him, she is his. That's the only place she belongs - by his side.

He might be the gentleman of lethe or the gentleman demon but he always puts that front down when he's around her - sometimes losing his cool, collected nature and yelling at her because she's stupid and reckless and it scares the living hell out of him. But at the same she can sleep in the same bed as him while he's drugged out of his mind as if it's perfectly normal for her to just slide into his bed. She had no reason to stay, she could have slept somewhere else in that massive mansion after putting him to bed. She could have slept with Pamela but she didn't.

There is simply too much yearning in this relationship for me to handle.
