You're going to amount to nothing. Those were the words her father had thrown in her face no more than five minutes ago. All she had said was that she thought it best that her parents split for a little while. It was something she'd been building up to tell them because she was sick and tired of hearing all of their yelling and arguing. Dylan was tired of it all, tired of having to find an escape from her own home when it didn't have to be this way. They could be perfectly happy apart seeing as they were never happy together and she only meant it in a respectful manner. That's not to say she didn't earn herself a slap across the face and a mouthful of degrading words that brought the tears to her eyes. Dylan refused to let them see her like this, refused to give them that satisfaction so she'd turned in an instant and bounded up the stairs. Slamming and locking her bedroom door behind her as the tears fell freely down her cheeks before she pushed the window open and entered into the cool night. Her chest was rising and falling as she pushed her hair out of her face and crossed over to Alex's roof, pushing his window open and stumbling in, brown eyes searching the room to see if he was in it.
