Alex Sink Is "Embarrassed" By Joe Biden, But Not His Campaign Cash
CNN reported last week that Alex Sink will be attending a fundraiser with Joe Biden this evening in Coral Gables, Florida, about 280 miles away from the Pinellas County Congressional District she now considers a rental destination.
However, as the Tampa Bay Times reports, it is pretty astounding that Sink would appear with Biden, given her treatment of the Vice President in when she ran for governor in 2010:
That she would go that far to be with Biden stands in stark contrast to her last run for political office. In 2010, Sink wanted little to do with him.
In the heated gubernatorial race with Rick Scott, she was the only statewide Democratic candidate to skip a Biden appearance in Hollywood.
"My focus has to be on Florida, on shaking lots of hands of Florida voters. And Vice President Biden is not a Florida voter," Sink said then. "I know him. I can talk to him just about any time I need to speak with him."
Sink Twice Dodges Question On Pinellas County Residency
Tonight, Alex Sink, who only decided to move into Pinellas County to run for Congress just a few months ago (and she's only renting), twice dodged the question during a candidates' forum of whether or not she would stay in the county after the special election.
Sink Dodges On Talking To National Democrat Leadership Before Running
Tonight, Alex Sink dodged when asked if she met with national Democrats before moving to Pinellas County to run for Congress.
Alex Sink Opposes A Balanced Budget Amendment
Tonight, in a candidates' debate, Florida Democrat Alex Sink said she opposes a Balanced Budget Amendment:
Alex Sink Cancels Debate To Attend Fundraiser In Washington, DC
According to SaintPetersBlog, it looks like Alex Sink forced a local group to reschedule a debate so that she could raise money from national Democrats and lobbyists in Washington, DC:
Jolly and, presumably, Sink had agreed to participate in a February 5th Tiger Bay program. However, nearly three weeks after that date was set, the organization reached out to Jolly to ask that he agree to reschedule the event. Gerard wrote to Jolly, "...we have a problem with Tiger Bay on February 5th."
That problem, Gerard couldn't/wouldn't say was that the Tiger Bay debate on February 5th interferes with a fundraising reception for Sink in Washington D.C.
...
Perhaps the D.C. fundraiser was already on Sink’s calendar. That could be the case. Or she could have shuffled a Tiger Bay appearance to raise money from D.C. lobbyists so that she can air more television ads attacking Jolly for being a D.C. lobbyist.
Don't Be Fooled: Alex Sink Is An Obama Democrat
Last Friday, at a candidate forum, Democrat candidate Alex Sink proclaimed: "Now, there's been a lot of talk about the Affordable Care Act. The rollout has been a disaster. The administration has failed us."
However, just over a year ago, Alex Sink was saying it was "really important" to re-elect President Obama:
Let it be clear: Alex Sink supports Barack Obama's policies.
