I was able to photograph this charming regional railroad for a couple of days back in March of 1978; the road ceased to exist in 1993.
This particular image shows an eastbound train on the Ahnapee & Western portion of the line somewhere between Casco and Algoma, Wisconsin. The train is carrying plate steel from which 1000 foot long ships will be built, at Sturgeon Bay.
