“I really think that reading is just as important as writing when you’re trying to be a writer because it’s the only apprenticeship we have, it’s the only way of learning how to write a story.” ~ John Green . Alright, so I'll say it, fantasy novel consume most of my feed by all of you wonderful bookstagrammers (my pictures are right in there with you) there is something about fantasy that allows readers to escape to whichever story is far from reality - but contemporaries seem to get the short end of the stick because they are so similar to our real lives sometimes, and we feel those stories even more than the fantasy ones. So when Natelle @tall_telle_tells_tales told me today was the release of John Green's newest book I knew I was going to have to break my normal look... .The thing about Green's books is they make you really feel, and in that feeling, most of us, do not want to realize that we are having those feelings because there is something in our lives that echo the story that we should probably attend too...and Green's books are very good at that - so I don't own many contemporaries, because I don't want to go back and reread, and be reminded of what I might be ignoring... . Well that was a long winded ramble - thank you for those who read it! . Do you have thoughts on contemporaries?? .
