Celebrating disbelief! This is my I-can't-believe-how-I-got-so-lucky face. When the ceremony "venue " was closed off to the public for the most romantic elopement ceremony EVER! Romantic history oozes out of the brickwork of the Parador. Queen Isabel la Católica married Ferdinand in 1479 and together they unified Spain. Isabel had the Parador built over the remains of a Nasrid Palace. The so-called patio where I held the ceremony is actually a roofless monestery adjacent to the spectacular oriental cloister. The barrier was removed so we had access to the covered area of Queen Isabel's former tomb. The accoustics were amazing. The music started, the heavy studded wooden doors opened, and the bride stepped into the courtyard for the groom's "first look " ... photos to follow.
