As someone who loves summer much more than winter, I can’t say that January is my favorite time of the year. It’s a time of deep reflection and broken New Years resolutions, too. But I can’t help but give thanks to that cold, lonesome month now that I’ve come across Ali Barter’s January, a punky strummer inspired by how we never stick to the aforementioned resolutions so contemptible in retrospect. The Melbourne rocker’s new single is the third track pulled off her highly anticipated second album Hello I’m Doing My Best, which lands on October 18th via Inertia / [PIAS]. It’s a sawing anthem that sees Ali Barter taking her voice to dizzying heights. She’ll be embarking on a massive twenty-five date tour around Europe, the UK, the US, and Australia in support of the new album. Tickets and tour dates can be found, here. Her San Francisco stop hits the Cafe du Nord on Thursday, November 21st.
