I'm helping for your proscratination : 33, 41, 63, 69, 85, 79
33: what's your fave pastry?
Ok you start hard with that. I’m actually not that big on pastries, like, when i’m in a bakery i never know what to take. But I love cakes. So when i go in a bakery i usually get those multi-layered bakery cakes that are hard to do, with some biscuit at the bottom, then a layer of praliné, then a layer of mousse au chocolat, then a layer of cacao powder. if it somewhere has a layer of exotic fruits it’s even better. and i can’t give a specific name bc it’s not a specific one.
41: what's the last book you remember really, really loving?
KINGS RISING. Tome 3 of the Captive Prince series, I read it in less than 24 hours this week (including a session from 11pm to 2:20 am that’s how good this book was). Had been waiting for it for months, and since i preordered it i had it right away on my e-reader and it was soooo good. Like, so so so good. It had everything I wanted from it and more, and I bit my e-reader twice out of stress/to handle fluff (worry not, it is in a protective case).
63: are you fussy about your books and music? do you keep them meticulously organized or kinda leave them be?
I do like it when I buy books new and they remain “new looking” for a long time, though I don’t really mind if they get a bit bruised bc hey, books gotta live their life. As for their organization, I dream of the day where I’ll have a big bookshelf that will take a whole wall and where everything will be organized thematically, but for now I keep moving around because of my studies, so some of my books are at home in Auvergne and some are here with me in Paris, and inside those some are in the wooden suitcase that works as my mobile library (well, mobile as in “can be put in the car easily when we move”, because even when empty it’s heavy as hell how did people travel with that), and some are in my nightstand in the “to-read” drawers. So. Not really organized.
As for music, I probably own like 3 physical CDs max so there’s not much to organize...
69: what are your favorite board games?
I’m a doomed capitalist, but I really like Monopoly. More because of childhood memories, I guess, because we used to play it all the time with my sis, there were family friends who would come to visit us for holidays and we’d start a game on monday when they arrived and by saturday when they left it still wouldn’t be over (I swear this is a true story). I also like Cluedo, and mille-borne was one of my childhood games to. Other than that I actually haven’t played that much boardgames, i’m afraid... Tho a friend at uni has told us that one day he’d take us to the game nights he does with... a club maybe? i’m not sure exactly but it sounds cool.
79: what's one of the cutest things someone has ever done for you?
It’s hard to pinpoint just one, but I’ll go with that time a friend of mine sent me a hand-warming rice-filled kitty sock that she had sewn herself, it’s so cute and i love it a lot although i haven’t had to use it in a while. Also it’s not really one thing in particular, nor is it very cute but rather sweet, but even though sometimes it’s been a bit harsh adapting to living at my aunt’s, I can see that she has made efforts sometimes. Like, she asked me not to put anything on the walls bc the paint is all new and she doesn’t like patafix, and of course it was right after i had spent a whole week-end covering them and it was when I had just arrived so I was very stressed, so the whole thing upset me a lot (ie I cried for two hours while taking everything off), and she prob noticed it had made me upset bc for my birthday she offered me a set of frames (that we still have to put on the wall) so that I could at least put a few of the pics. So yeah, it’s kinda sweet.
85: do you read comics? what are your faves?
Yes I do!! I read quite a few webcomics, and also some Marvel comics, and when I find some French comics that seem to have a pretty artstyle and good stories i like them too. As for my favourites, I really loved the Silk series that marvel did (have to catch up on the one that started after Secret wars now that i think of it), and of course, of course, Stand Still, Stay Silent is like my #1 fave for ever when it comes to webcomics (read it here). It is just so good and so pretty and I love it. I have already converted 3 people at school, it’s a work in progress (and bonded with a dude who already knew it and had noticed me reading it in class and was as excited as i was to be able to share his love for Mina’s work).
