A haunting lament, the British singer’s latest single ‘Why Is It We Fight Like This?’ Is almost transcendent as bluesy riffs and stirring organ tones meet heavenly gospel harmonies to create a modern day hymn, striking a perfect balance between menacing and seductive as a vicious cycle is doomed to repeat.
About ‘being stuck in a relationship with someone where things have become quite toxic,’ Ray explains via press release:
‘You know it’s not right for you but there’s something about it that keeps you intertwined with the drama of it. The song has a bluesy feel and also a sinister air about it, and I actually ended it with ‘do you miss me, dear?’ as a homage to Moriarty from Sherlock.’
