after the events of earlier that day, duri was rather excited about going to the café. truth be told, he looked forward to the atmosphere, getting to actually work within the café itself during the event, and even getting to do a performance on the stage. it remained him a bit of his uncle’s and aunt’s café in itaewon, the place that he had grown up in. he worked in the café for a short time, as well as often doing the open mic nights since he was younger - of course, all before duri had become a trainee under bc entertainment, as he wasn’t able to after that. nonetheless, he looked forward to something of this nature, especially since he didn’t have the best time earlier in the day (though, it got better thanks to minjung.) nonetheless, he was definitely better and he was very excited, so that counted for something, right?
duri was probably even more excited because he was doing a duet with alice for his performance on the stage. he had delivered to his last table for now, until after the performance. he asked if they needed anything else and when they say no, he just smiled, and made his way to find alice. “alice!” he said, happily giggling. “it’s just about our time to perform, are you ready?” he asked, clearly excited about the performance, as well as the cover that the two would be doing. duri takes the apron off for now, placing it on one of the hooks. there was no need to perform with it on.
“it’s a little late but...” rina trailed off as she set a bowl of popcorn and some drinks down. “it’s always a good time to watch a few horror movies.” and they weren’t all just horror. she had some plain old thrillers mixed in there as well. she had the perfect set up for a scary movie marathon. “we have blankets to hide under and pillows to hug during the scary parts and real food is one the way.”
once she had the viewing set up and perfected, rina took her seat next to alice. “you know, i wouldn’t mind getting type-casted for horror movies.” it was a trap no actor wanted to fall into but there were some things she just didn’t mind. “there’s something fun with being able to play a character is a little unhinged.”

idols not involved in the album will also have the opportunity to film a short video talking about the season or the end of the year to participate in a teaser for the album release during this period.

in-’verse info
during this three week period, all songs on the album will be recorded. songs 1 through 5 on the track list will be recorded some time between november 1 and november 14 with dates depending on when the artists of the song are available. “all i want” will be recorded throughout the week of november 15 to november 21. all recording will take place in a large studio space rented out by the team in charge of the album instead of at any of the companies.
everyone recording on the same song will generally be asked to be present all at the same time for at least one recording session day so that the production team can get behind the scenes footage for everyone on that day. some idols may be called back in on additional days to put down more vocals for songs. at this time, idols may briefly cross paths with other idols as their scheduled recording times run into one another.
all of the idols on the album will also participate in a reality show that will be uploaded to the base youtube channel in ten minute clips to give a more personal look at the “magic team”. this show will involve all of the idols coming together to learn and do various activities related to the holiday season. on november 15, all idols on the album will be scheduled to show up at a large kitchen around 8am, where they’ll all learn from one of seoul’s top pastry chefs and make christmas-themed treats such as designed cut out cookies, gourmet chocolates, bûche de noël, and homemade candy canes. that night around 6pm, the idols will meet back together at a warehouse, where they’ll talk to a man who helps design large christmas tree displays throughout the city (example). they’ll then be sorted in small groups of three or four and be instructed to come up with a christmas tree decoration design of their own. as this is all being filmed, this will be made into a competition with the promise that the best design will be used on a real public christmas tree display.
base is also seeking idols, whether they are involved in the album or not, to film a personal video on thoughts and feelings related to either winter or the end of the year to include in a teaser video for the project. idols participating in the video who are not otherwise involved in the album will be encouraged to do so by management who will have the request passed along to them.
these short clips will be included in the magic of the season video base will be uploaded to their youtube channel to tease the release of the album. in order to be included, the idol must submit a video discussing one (or multiple) of the following topics:

she’d be willing to endure the public for alice. they could’ve had another hang out her place. it’s what kami would’ve been happy with but she felt like it would’ve been boring. so, today, they would be going out and interacting with the world and kami would put up with it.
“we have a bit until dinner...” kami pulled out her phone, looking away from alice for a second. it was easier to meet up at the company, if they met her place, it’d be moving further away from the place she picked out. “want to do a little shopping? it isn’t far and there a few shops...or whatever you want to do, the main event is dinner.”
the only time she’s really ran into the candy member was when she, literally, have ran into her. as harsh as it sounded, she didn’t completely dig snooping into the lives of her juniors. while she did her best to keep up with the ones in the same company, she found it hard to remember each and every one of them. if someone wants to complain about that, she’d argue that they should reach her age one day.
so when she’s told that she’ll be paired up with alice for this shoot, she has to take a moment—and maybe look up her name on naver—to recall which member she exactly was. right. candy. or what she’d like to call bce’s newest cash cows. understandably so because they were reaching levels so early on in their career. the amount of times she’s heard cheer up in the streets when it came out was quite something.
“did you have anything in mind that you wanted? oh wait, am i allowed to even ask that? it’s the whole point of this thing, isn’t it? for me to style you and this shoot the way i want?” it’s a question that sounds closer to a statement, and she’s not actually expecting some answer.
it seemed as though since he had debuted, siwoo had spent most of his time getting dressed up and made neat, and trips in and out of hair and make up salons were far from uncommon. admittedly, it felt weird as a male to be using make up, but after a month and a half of promotions he was starting to get used to it and simply just had to acknowledge that the public wanted to see a picture perfect mask rather than his real face. he wasn’t particularly sad or annoyed with that -- it was just how things were -- but using so much make up meant that an equal amount of skin care products was required, and thus after a visit to the hair salon to get his roots done, siwoo had gone shopping.
however, it seemed he had been beat to the punch as a woman seemed deeply occupied with the skin products aisle. waiting patiently behind her for his turn, siwoo couldn’t help but notice the product in her hand and he let out a gasping “ah!” seeing the empty spot of that particular product on the shelf as it was one of the ones he liked the best. but he couldn’t possibly find it in himself to urge her on to not buy it. of course however, his gasp had caused him attention.
“ah, don’t mind me,” he assured her quickly and offered a nod towards her hand. “ever tried that one before? i swear it makes you feel like butter. of course not like being spread on bread and eaten but like, the smoothness after using it is surreal and--” actually getting a good look at the other’s face, siwoo only then noticed that he had happened upon a senior in the industry. quickly closing his gaping mouth he bowed deeply. “i’m sorry, i didn’t realise i was talking to a sunbae!”
sure, it wasn’t like a full vacation in any means, but there still had some time in their schedules that felt like it was a vacation in someway. at least, maybe some people would refer to that as some kind of working vacation, considering they were still working anyways. nonetheless, what did vacations actually mean for idols? it meant breaking diets and worrying about it later, especially when managers weren’t fully following them around for the most part, unless it was something on their schedules that they had to do.
duri was looking forward to breaking his diet a bit, as it wasn’t going to be too bad. he really could just work it off later, it wasn’t like he couldn’t. so, he’d eat whatever he wanted during this time, and just go to the gym, where he would just go hard. that always seemingly worked out for the man, to be perfectly honest.
today, he was with alice, one of his younger friends that he had gotten close with. they seemingly have a bit of the same energy, so it had only made sense, wasn’t it? nonetheless, he was being a little bad and encouraging the diet breaking. while in california, right? “where should we go to eat lots of bad stuff?” he asked, a giggle leaving his lips. “i’m even okay with a lot of sugar!” he said, his head nodding excitingly.
jaein wouldn’t say she’s bad in the kitchen. having been the eldest of four children, there were times where she had to take care of her little siblings’ meals. however, baking seems to be a completely different story, and she didn’t find the joy in it as much as some of her other group members. when alice suggested a baking live where she would teach the older member how to bake, she had no reason to say no. knowing alice’s kills, she was confident that she wouldn’t burn the kitchen down or anything.
it felt weird having a few staff members in the middle of lucid’s dorm though at the same time, it was nice that they didn’t have to move to some other location. this way, the moment the live is finished the two of them could relax. with a clap of her hands, she nudges the younger member with her elbow as a way of asking if she’s ready. ultimately, it was up to alice to sign for the cameras to turn on since jaein was technically the student. there was nothing she needed to do at the moment. “ready?”
