🐍BOOK REVIEW 🐍 I finished the much anticipated prequel to the Hunger Games trilogy on Tuesday ❤️ Naturally I had to read this with a Mockingjay pin #aliciamarksitbookmark • • Thoughts: 🦜The book was slow to start and I didn’t get into it until about page 200. I don’t know if that was due to the book or my general anxiety and being burned out from work when I started last week 🤷🏻♀️ 🐍Snow is such a selfish narcissist. I loooove a good villain perspective story like when they have redeemable qualities or we see their transformation into a villain but Snow is not that such villain. 🦜Looks at what it means to be human and inherent violence in all of us so that was interesting 🐍I did fangirl at the details that relate to the trilogy and the future of Panem 🦜I liked the story overall and Collins’ writing was fantastic for the most part, although it did drag sometimes • • As I said earlier, I think I was expecting a bit more from the “villain perspective” but my own expectations and hopes ruined it. I did give it 4 ⭐️s because it was enjoyable enough but just didn’t love it as much as I wanted to 🙈 #qotd have you read this one yet? What were your thoughts? Triggers: Murder/violence, suicidal ideation, starvation, animal abuse • • Prompts: #beachcanyouread “Read a book by your favorite author” hosted by @readwithangie https://www.instagram.com/p/CBBeWpKgucI/?igshid=16fpa8696crqn
