✨Review-Shadow of Night✨ Happy Tuesday bookworms! I hope your week has been good so far 💕 my last book of the year was Shadow of Night (book 2 in the All Souls Trilogy) by Deborah Harkness. It was pretty good for a sequel, with great storytelling and plot twists. The book was similar to the first in how slow it was in the beginning. It picked up after about 150 pages and then I didn’t want to stop reading! Matthew and Diana continued their complex character development through their journey and I’m excited to see how the series ends. There were a lot of characters to keep track of including celebrity cameos which could be confusing at times. So much back and forth between character POVs and timelines that I often had to reread paragraphs. I didn’t care for all the celebrity cameos as how could Matthew know so many historic figures in one small part of his life, it felt cliche. The book was also very *explicit* with adult scenes 😳🔥 it was a good thing I couldn’t leave the house so I didn’t end up reading these in public 😂 Rating: 🌙🌙🌙🌙 (4/5) Triggers: miscarriage, suicide, grief, blood, rape (brief mention), antisemitism QOTD what was your last read of 2020?
