Day 7: Alien

Could I have done something cool? Probably. Did I do something silly and fun instead? Yup!

This is Landon. He's the older brother of the protagonist of a (admittedly dead) horror-ish story I had a couple years ago, and he is... shockingly normal. "In college to be an accountant" level normal. Literally. He's going to be an accountant. Despite that, he has a lot of flamboyant, very interesting friends (most of them are queer, several are going into artistic fields). Between them and his chaotic younger sister, Charlie, it's not impossible for this to happen. He normally dresses more classic nerdy college student, but I thought it would be fun to draw him in this crazy alien outfit, to fit the theme.

Also, can we have more trans older brother characters? Severely underused trope. (I mean, there should be more trans characters in media in general, but-)

Landon is very much a side character/supporting character, but I think there's a certain beauty to that, too. Yay, trans people just *existing*. He doesn't show up much in the story because he's off in college, but he's definitely the voice of reason. He doesn't belive in ghosts, and tries to keep his sister and her friends out of trouble, but there's only so much he can do, especually when ghosts are very much real. Overall, he's level-headed and responsible, but not very open-minded.

Despite barely getting to write him, I do quite like Landon as a character. His relationship with his sister is fascinating. They were always close, especially since their parents always seemed to be busy. Then Landon grew up, and went off to college a year before Charlie went to high school, leaving Charlie feeling abandoned, although she couldn't really blame him. Every time he comes home, they seem to be at each others' throats. They can't agree on anything, and while Landon really is trying to do the best for Charlie, he isn't the best at listening to her. He can be stubborn, and think his way is the right way sometimes, but he does care about his sister, and he doesn't come off as a know-it-all - he's quite friendly, actually, if a little awkward.
