everyone around me because our kid's shows didn't show us that being different is okay/being outside the gender binary is a thing. idk I'm just rambling, but steven universe is so precious to me. . .
SU has definitely changed a lot and still will.
I mean come on there is a lesbian couple(sapphire and ruby), most of the cast is non-binary(the gems don’t have a gender but use she pronouns), technically Steven pretty much represents mixed children(him being half gem half human), also most of the cast is POC, them being background or not. It shows a lot of diversity and I’m glad Rebecca Sugar went with this rather than with another generic show.
I love Steven Universe so much.
