Creature I have been working on for few years, constantly iterating it. I was thinking about solitary, vampiric class beast with slightly mocking nature. A foe that will taunt and dance with you until you fatigue and get vurnerable enough for it to finish you easily. They use their tentacle thingies for fight/defense but also as sensory organs to 'feel' the things around. No name yet, but he is one of slightly smaller predatory creatures from Etharus.

Part one of Skelmir's ref :) Forgotten great flying dragon-like beasts of Etharus. I have chosen this pose to show how the creature is able to use its powerful wings to support its body, also kind of scretching out. They can take different standing poses, including more traditional dragon-y pose to show the weight of this beast. Skelmir was my first dragon-like creature from my worldbuilding, originally influenced by prehistoric pterosaurs and fantasy dragons/wyverns. Im happy to finally being able to realise my vision of this design.

Another predatory creature from Etharus, 'night wraith'. It moves and makes chilling sounds like banshee/spectre. The color of the markings shift depending on the cycle (day/night) and the creature can control their intensity. Together with the use of color, markings and movement of the flexible spine-tentacle thingies to intimidate and confuse their victim/prey.

A bit more elusive than the pale creature. I designed this creature in the same time as the other one :)

Part 1 of Arcas reference.

Arcas are Etharus' equivalent of sable antelope/goat with extra mean attitude. They are usually used as battle mounts due to their psychique and their bodies being built for constant fights (territory, mates or just when they feel like it). They require a rough and experienced hand, so since Ercrnar are best suited handler-warriors, they punch the beast in face when it misbehaves, in return they get obedience and respect from the creature :)

Some rog drag head studies, probably not the most accurate because this design posed some challenge (did not knew this dude will be so complex to draw XD...yea who I'm kidding, I knew) The dragon has different type of scales, some scales are protruding and forming ridges, most if not all are placed neatly near each other they do not overlap like snake scales. Skelmir has 3 types of protective 'layers' that consists of diamond shaped scales, scale-plates and tough skin plates. Neck,head and chest are best protected as they are usually most vulnerable, but the skin on the other parts of body is slightly reinforced too. Many types of hand-to-hand combat and range weapons are not able to fully penetrate it, can eventually leave scratch marks. Both upper and lower jaw have two rows of teeth that can rotate slightly for better gripping.

Reference completed. 3D sculpt completed.

Now preparing for animation itself, retopology->textures->rig. Still a way to go until I’m finished with this project.
