zax, every day this world gets dimmer but you continue to be the shining light on my dashboard with your intelligence and queerness. genuinely sometimes it feels like you're the only person online who has some kind of sense. thank you for offering some relief to this bleak society

first of all, thank you for the kind words! im glad i could be here to make things a little less grim :3 i'm queer, loud and proud, and here to have a good time

second tho, i'm still very much a work in progress.

there's a lot i don't know both in terms of general common knowledge (extremely poor, rural, white, and conservative arkansas public education left me with so many knowledge gaps that i'm not even fully aware of them until i barrel into something new that 'everyone' knows but i don't) and in terms of specific politics, economics, marginalizations, etc that i should know more about but have not had the time or energy to read more on (and have had the luxury and undeniable privilege of remaining ignorant about). it's something i'm working on, but i promise there are so many more intelligent people than me who have already done that legwork and laid the foundations and are fighting the good fight every single day.

there are so many good and kind people out there, i promise. don't let the loud minority fool you into thinking otherwise. giving up is the only way we lose.

personally, I think you have every right to keep your anons off. ive seen a lot of the drama that you get dragged into and I get why you'd want to keep yourself isolated from that, and I also understand wanting to go back to how it was when it was easier to talk to ppl without feeling they had an ulterior motive. social exhaustion is some of the worst kind, but it does get easier to dip your toes in. you don't have to respond to this btw, I just wanted to send some encouragement to my fave blog

The one that comes to mind immediately is the strong independent woman one that say a woman can only be strong and independent if she’s a a cold hearted stern prudish bitch. While Tya falls into the trope in a weird way, it’s not at all true for her, and it’s even farther than true for Sophie. Sophie is one of my strongest characters, and her behavior is the complete opposite of that trope. 

None of them are really shy. Tya and Lucien are antisocial. Shy doesn’t seem like a word I’d describe them as at all. And Sophie, not at all. Not even a little. All three of them are pretty socially awkward just in different ways. Tya has a hard time wanting to communicate and trying to hold a conversation, Lucien has a hard time getting his words to come out right, and Sophie has like... -7 boundaries.

None of them actually shave because none of them have to. Lucien and Sophie do like once a year, but their hair and nails grow so slowly that it’s pretty much completely unnecessary. Tya doesn’t grow any hair. 

Sophie would LOVE to wear make up. She will wear eyeshadow and lipstick if Alex puts it on her, but she can’t apply it herself. Lucien would happily wear eyeliner if it was applied for him, and nailpolish. Tya technically doesn’t wear any make up, but it appears that she’s wearing eyeliner. She really liked the look, and because of that her skin is actually made that way.
