@space_quanta Long exposure of a rocket launch with Mount Kaimon in the background Kagoshima, Japan By @hrk1108 I don't get it? I was under the impression that rockets went straight up? My friend said to me a while back (Just a passing comment really). He asked me if I'd ever wondered why rockets never went straight up and instead always veer off to the side and land in the middle of the sea? I said which? Just all of them. All the rocket launches he said! Since he said this, I catch myself trying to disprove it because I don't think I can stand the thought of every launch doing this... But this really does look like it's going sideways and not up. Can you imagine if he's right? I've seen another video of a launch and that to went up and then sideways. Come to think of it, the rocket launches I have seen do get to a certain height then kinda disappear from the screen.
